A new fund targeting investment opportunities arising from shale gas in the US has been announced by Goldman Sachs Asset Management.
The Goldman Sachs North American Shale Revolution & Energy Infrastructure fund will seek to invest in energy producers, energy infrastructure companies and energy users.
Domiciled in Luxembourg, the fund’s retail accumulation share class will have a minimum investment of $5,000 (£2,975) and a management fee of 0.75 per cent.
Documents supporting the launch say: “We believe robust growth will continue across energy production, energy infrastructure spending and energy usage of US produced energy, fuelling the North American ‘energy shale revolution’.
“Energy infrastructure companies may provide investors with a source of income and growth due to increasing energy production and increased consumption of US-produced energy. They may also offer a diversification benefit relative to traditional asset classes.”
